Home School Tracker Plus

I think I posted about this great software already but if not here it is:

This is a free home school scheduling software program. The basic version is a free download and does just about everything the Plus (paid) version does. The Plus version costs $40 and includes a CD-Rom. It also has a high school transcript, report card with letter grades and more report templates. The biggest difference is that it stores class information in subjects and courses. This is especially useful for high school programs. The basic version stores every entry as a subject so Copywork, Literature, History, Natural History, are all listed individually. In the Plus version, English would group copywork, literature, poetry, Shakespeare, etc. under one course heading. It is really apples and oranges and if you are not interested in presentation, the free version works just as well. I wanted to have the advanced report features and the professional looking transcript so the $40 was well-worth the price.

I inputed my son's entire Y9 program into this software and it took me about 2 hours to do it. His entire year is done and I can print weekly reports as well as a daily task sheet for him in a couple minutes. It is a great time-saver and it is nice to know that it will calculate grades and points for me. I don't have to worry about doing this down the road and I can print out a progress report at any point in our school year.
